The PC axis cards offer a ready-made solution for practically every bus type. The following bus formats are supported: PCI, ISA, PC/104, VME, CompactPCI. Optimum communication is achieved by integrating the axis cards into the PC. Connecting cables are used to connect to the terminal strip or downstream servo drive. We have limited the selection on our website to PCI cards, as this interface is most frequently used.
The DMC-18x6 is a motion controller developed as a PC plug-in card. With a 32-bit RISC microcomputer, this motion controller offers sufficient performance for its tasks. It supports an encoder input up to 22 MHz, offers sampling rates up to 32 kHz and processes commands within 40 µs. This is 10 times faster than previous generations. Nevertheless, the programming language remains as simple as ever and programs can be transferred almost 1:1. In addition, the 100-pin SCSI connector is virtually the same as on previous series, making it very easy to convert programs to the DMC-18x6.
The 18x6 is available with 1 to 8 axes. The axes can be configured as required for steppers, servo motors or other drives. Connections for limit switches, home switches and two encoder inputs are available for each axis. Unassigned analog inputs and digital inputs/outputs are also available.
The standard programming includes PID controllers with feedforward control for speed and acceleration as well as filters. Program memory with multitasking for up to 8 programs and unassigned I/Os for synchronization with external events. Movement modes are point-to-point movement, continuous operation, linear and circular interpolation, contour movement and electronic coupling.
As with all Galil controllers, programming is carried out using simple 2-letter commands. Galil Design Kit (GDK) further simplifies commissioning: tuning tools and real-time displays of position, inputs/outputs, etc. Drivers are available for Windows, .Net, QNX and Linux.
The DMC-18x2 is a motion controller with PCI interface. This Econo series was developed especially for price-sensitive applications. Compared to the Accelera series, some features are not available. Axes 5-8, opto-isolation of inputs, unassigned analog inputs, the second encoder input, the additional FIFO and a DPRAM communication channel have been omitted.
The DMC-18x2 has a 32-bit microprocessor at its core and offers high-quality features such as PID controller with feedforward control for speed and acceleration, program memory with multitasking for up to 8 programs and unassigned inputs and outputs for synchronization with external events. Movement modes include point-to-point movement, jogging, linear and circular interpolation, contour movement, electronic clutch and ECAM.
